a) Start up capital to the community member’s project.
Due to the devastating effect of the HIV/AIDS pandemic in our community, the lives of so many widows and orphans were helplessly dependants
Because the need is so numerous, the project has developed an income generating activity project program to minister to those who are destitute in the community. Such program is geared towards developing the economy of the community we serve. It is designed to provide education to the impoverished about business principles from an economic perspective and then provides the starting capital to help financially struggling individuals to start or expand small businesses.
We hope to be able to extend this opportunity to other villages using money that might be donated by donors. To protect this valuable resource, the community members do chose activities to be involved in basing on their stand of knowledge. The leadership from those communities then identifies members with strong business potential and overall commitment to be in the program. During the training, members are taught not only how to run a small business but how to save money, manage cash flow, and reinvest capital. Upon completion of the 40-hour program and approval of both business and financial plans, micro-loans as starting capital are provided. The business and financial plans submitted are tailored to follow and incorporate the principles of the training program.
Next year, we are to start a cross-training program so that members from one community we to train share their skills and talents with members of another community. This will allow for more new ideas and it shall lowers competition among the members.
Since the program has been established few months ago, over 200 individuals from 10 village including local leaders hope to benefit as their new businesses shall successfully begun and continue. Pay back of loans averages 90%. This will make some in the program expand to two and three businesses with their profits earned.
According to our plan, after the loans are paid back, the program begins again with a second group of community widows’ members with the first group mentoring the second group. Because the first group is so carefully chosen, they are able to set the example and model the program for the next group.
The support is provided to specific people that meet the poverty level criteria. This criteria is based on the percentage in the community:
• widows who are raising children, living below poverty level and lack skills that can earn them a living
• teen orphans who are not financially able to attend school and have no skills nor capital to start a business so are being pressured into early marriage by guardians or are prone to engage in risky behaviours
In details, 5 families have been given 3 chickens to act as their starting capital. After a while, each family will bring back two chickens that will be given to another family. Another family has been given two pigs a female and a male and we expect them to bring back two female pigs that we shall give to another family in need.

MISSION
Vocational training aims at improving socio-economic standards of OVCs, equipping them with skills and knowledge beneficial to them when they grow up as well as promoting human dignity and self dependency. Since most of our kids come from homeless and poor backgrounds, their feature in formal education is in balance as such non-formal training certainly helps.
Project Background
Sewing is one of the vocational programs undertaken by orphans, needy and vulnerable
children at save African child Uganda. This offer as a beginning was given to 8 children
like frank in the photo aside; currently we have one sewing machine and one trainer.
Our aim is to have 8 machines so that every child can sit on his or her own sewing
machine during practice. These children are making shirts and shorts for the moment;
they managed to make the music costumes that were used on the 1st December music event.

It aims at achieving the following objectives:

Extend the program in the community of our catchments area. We have more than 200 villages;
this needs funds to support the extension.
Introduce 2nd phase craft training at the school.
(iii). Agriculture
As a guardian, I can't imagine not being able to feed my 15-month-old child. It breaks my heart to think of it. That is why it is so profoundly upsetting to me to think of fellow guardians across the world who can't answer their children's cries for food.
Thinking about it moves me to take action and I hope it does for you too. The good news is that you and I can make a difference. With your help, Concern can give parents the tools, knowledge, and resources they need so that they can raise healthy and well-nourished children. By joining Concern for Hunger, you are not just fighting hunger with a handout. You are taking a stance against the cycle of hunger by supporting Sacu who, with the help of Concern, are growing nutritious foods like maize, Banana and sweet potatoes for the children.
Apparently we have yielded sweet potatoes that feed children attending craft beading class.
On the live stock sector;
Sacu has goats and cows where one nicknamed Mama Sacu gives us milk for the shelter children.
In the picture a side Emma milking Mama Sacu.
This program has been extended to the community where by families are chickens and pigs
