    Save African child Uganda has it in plan to establish a one model community based ECD center (satellite). The work began with one classroom construction, one pit-latrine, one teacher bedroom and the shelter accompanied with animals

  • shelters.                                        We hope next year to build more three class room where by each will cost $8000. Without the help of well wishers, sponsors and donor, this will not happen.

    The ECD center we have in plan will comprise of   200 seats capacity mall hall to be used

  • as prayers’ chapel and dinning, a clinic, more three modern  toilets, children hostels for

  • boarding scholars,  sports centers with various play materials and a resting room. A total

  • of 300 children are envisaged to benefit from the ECD center. This project is intended to

  • help OVC’s to access early childhood learning and stimulation thereby improving their

  • physical, emotional and cognitive development, which prepares them for primary levels.

    This year children’s being in the centers has given the caregivers ample time to engage in

  • other productive activities at home. In this light, after the three year period of their infant

  • level (Baby, middle and Top class);

    b) Primary level. (P1-P7)                                                                                                                                                                                          Also pupils in primary schools are supported with free education, two meals a day, medication scholastic materials which include; school uniforms, exercise books, pens, pencils, mathematical sets, calculators and shoes to the very needy children. This is an effort by S.A.C.U to complement government program of free UPE to all children including the OVC. Strategies to empower families of OVC in order to be able to meet their education needs will be enhanced in the future for sustainability. At sacu next year we shall be having a new class (primary five) where p.4 classroom children have been promoted to.

  • Proscovia Nakyeyune( in the orange dress bellow ) is being sponsored by Sacu at Mulago school for the deaf located in Kampala the capital city of Uganda. She is performing well depending on her academic reports. She has been promoted to p.4 class.

  • Save African child Uganda has it in plan to introduce more vocational program so that children can attain knowledge and skills in computer application. Efforts are underway and S.A.C.U will train more children vocational skills in attempts to increase their income-generating prowess. The students supported under this scheme are expected to support and reach out to other orphans and vulnerable children when they complete their studies.                                                                                                                    Namiro Hasifah in the picture aside is the only student currently benefiting in Sacu children sponsorship program of higher institutions of learning.
